Posted on June 11 2014 at 12:32:36

The son of a Barnt Green man who fought in the Middle East during the First World War is to give a talk on his father’s experiences.

Dr John Godrich has published the war diaries kept by his father, Victor, who was a cavalryman with the Queen’s Own Worcestershire Hussars and fought in places such as Judea, Gallipoli and Damascus.

As part of the Worcester Literary Festival, Dr Godrich will give two one-hour presentations on Saturday June 28, at 2pm and 4pm. These will take place at Worcester City Art Gallery and Museum (WR1 1DT) and include archive pictures and paintings.

Tickets costing £5 are available from the Swan Theatre box office or on 10905 611427. The book, Mountains of Moab, will be available to buy.
