We don’t agree with the inclusion in The Village of letters from people who wish to hide beneath a cloak of anonymity. 

In our view, if a person does not have the courage of their convictions they should forfeit the right to having their submissions published.

Is there a good reason not to follow such a policy?

The Editor writes: While we can see the reasoning behind your suggestion, we feel the fact that someone may not be as confident as you in having their name published should not invalidate their views nor prevent them from being aired.
